I'm catching up from the weekend and I have to say I am so encouraged by all the conversations that were happening while I was out. When I imagined this community this is exactly what I thought it would be like. Thank you for being honest with each other but also gentle with each other. When we say something that might sound "stupid" outside of here it's important that we teach ourselves to make our first reaction one of curiosity instead of judgment. We take so much air out of a situation when we pause and react with interest instead of vitriol. I find that in real life. When I've gotten into tense situations (fender bender or something) and it is obvious the other person is expecting rage and when you come with grace or humor it completely deflates the tension. I believe that most people expect harshness and appreciate grace. When we practice those skills here, we are better equipped to go out and share those skills with others. So thank you for all your fascinating and gracious conversation. The State of DavisNation is GOOD!

Also, this post a few years ago really got me!
“At my funeral I want to have 2 Falcons, 2 Braves and 2 Georgia Bulldogs as my pallbearers, so they can let me down one last time.”
💔 😫 🤣
@KiraDavis saw your tweet about the foster care / adoption “business”. I will try to come back later and tell you my personal story with the foster care system. It’s a disaster.
