One day we were driving back home after dropping the kids in Phoenix and as we were driving past Quartzite I turned my head to try to peek into the little desert town just off the highway. I always do that, because I wonder who lives their lives there...and why. I make up stories in my head about who those people are, and what they're doing in a one-street desert town. We never stop unless we're almost out of gas. But this day as we were speeding by a sign for a bookstore caught my eye. I love buying old books and stores are rare these days. But then what caught my eye was an obviously naked man in a sunhat standing in front, tending to the yard. I shouted, "Mark! There's a naked guy at that bookstore!" and he said, jokingly, "Should we stop?" and I said, "We have to." I never say no to a good party story. So we did. Turns out the guy was a gentleman named Paul and he owned the bookstore. He was a local fixture and tourist stop, known as The Naked Bookseller. He was a hippie and a nudist, wearing only a crocheted strawberry pouch over his...bits. He was friendly and there were even signs encouraging you to take ask for a photo. He never said no. And sure, it's weird to me and maybe to some of you. But he's kind of what I love about this country. It's a nation filled with friendly weirdos. We're all so busy focusing on making sure we only spend time in the company of people like us, or who think like us or who agree with us that we forget there's a whole world of delightful weirdos out there for us to enjoy and learn from if we'd only be willing to get off the highway once in a while and take the risk of curiosity. So, Rest in Peace, Paul. I can say for sure you have brought endless enjoy and laughs to me and to my friends that I've shared our story with. God bless. I hope you're somewhere where you never have to cover your naughty bits again. https://www.parkerpioneer.net/news/article_247633ba-71b1-11e9-980d-2b84999892e7.html?fbclid=IwAR2e8SLAqTwZvHpxlasx1aAId65deswfp8VYKLYHBJO-jgMllkBInWyLqMM

@KiraDavis saw your tweet about the foster care / adoption “business”. I will try to come back later and tell you my personal story with the foster care system. It’s a disaster.
